Laurent Dumas’s contemporary art collection is on display for the first time, in the setting of a temporary space in the heart of the Marais district in Paris, the Hôtel Beaubrun, a stunning 18th Century townhouse and headquarters of the Emerige group.
This original exhibition is curated by international curator Jérôme Sans and presents a selection of works by French and international artists, all of whom represents key moments in the artpatron and collector Laurent Dumas’ s artistic journey: Elmgreen & Dragset, Daniel Buren, Shilpa Gupta, Loris Gréaud, Jim Shaw, Pierre Soulages, Bill Viola…
Like a chorus of a rock song, the tittle As I Run and Run, Happiness comes closer suggests the idea of a utopian artistic journey, whether from the point of view of the artist, the collector and the curator.
This exhibition is sponsored by the Emerige Endowment Fund for contemporary art.
