GUERLAIN

Since its creation in 1828, Guerlain has cultivated a deep relationship with art. Over the generations, its perfumers have drawn inspiration from the avant-garde of their time and called upon renowned painters, decorators, sculptors, and photographers to enrich their creations. Today, cultural programming and ongoing dialogue with artists continue to bring the House's heritage to life, notably through contemporary art exhibitions organized in partnership with Art Basel Paris.

Ecological Transition

Since its creation in 1828, Guerlain has cultivated a deep relationship with art. Over the generations, its perfumers have drawn inspiration from the avant-garde of their time and called upon renowned painters, decorators, sculptors, and photographers to enrich their creations. Today, cultural programming and ongoing dialogue with artists continue to bring the House’s heritage to life, notably through contemporary art exhibitions organized in partnership with Art Basel Paris. Since 2023, the Lee Ufan Arles x Guerlain Art & Environment Prize has been exploring new creative perspectives between contemporary art, nature, and living things.

The agency has been working with Guerlain since 2023 on the Art & Environment Prize launched with Lee Ufan Arles, and since 2025, it has been supporting Guerlain in all of its artistic and cultural activities.

Guerlain’s history reads like a journey through the great artistic periods. Since its creation in 1828, the richness of its artistic work and collaborations has been a common thread, and this vision has enabled the meeting of genres and eras, between tradition, baroque elegance, and ultra-modernity. For the Guerlains, luxury has a mission: to be a vehicle for culture and the quest for meaning, driven by creativity and the pursuit of excellence. With transparency and sincerity, Guerlain stands apart from trends and fads, never forgetting its roots: a confident taste for creative audacity and the spirit of the times. To mark the 100th anniversary of Shalimar in 2025, we are rediscovering part of this legend thanks to the artists who have followed in the wake of this iconic fragrance, such as Rita Hayworth, Frida Kahlo, Louise Bourgeois, and Andy Warhol.

Through these encounters, Guerlain’s bottles and creations are transformed: their reinterpretation is a recurring stylistic exercise encouraged by Maison Guerlain, particularly through exceptional pieces and limited editions.

At the same time, every year Guerlain organizes artistic commissions and exhibitions, providing an international showcase for emerging and established artists on the international contemporary art scene. Convinced that artists have a role to play in the ecological transition, Guerlain also supports artistic awareness-raising initiatives, whether through partnerships or sponsorship.

L’art en plus supports Guerlain in its communication strategy and relations with the media and digital content creators, both for the Art & Environment Prize launched with Lee Ufan Arles, exhibitions and events in partnership with Art Basel Paris, and all projects related to art and culture.
