Avignon Tourisme

France

At the invitation of the City of Avignon, the Palais des Papes welcomes one of the greatest masters of international contemporary art, Lee Ufan, throughout the summer of 2026. The Gothic monument, a UNESCO World Heritage site, becomes the setting for a masterful encounter between sacred architecture and a body of work of rare spiritual intensity. The exhibition Relatum: Lee Ufan au Palais des Papes marks the 140th anniversary of diplomatic relations between France and Korea, echoing the Festival d'Avignon.
A major figure held in the world's leading museum collections, Lee Ufan is in the spotlight in 2026, from Venice to Dia Beacon in New York. His ties with France run deep: Arles is home, like Naoshima in Japan and Busan in Korea, to one of the venues dedicated to his work.

Working alongside Avignon Tourisme, Lee Ufan Arles and the Studio Lee Ufan, l’art en plus leads the exhibition’s media relations as part of a rich cultural season in the south of France (Rencontres d’Arles, Festival d’Avignon, and more).
