“Art [ ] Collector: collectors invite an artist” is a philanthropic project launched in 2011 by Evelyne and Jacques Deret, a collectors couple. The project brings together – over the span of an exhibition in Paris – an artist, his/her collectors and his/her gallery. The 14 previous winners have each received a solo exhibition and a catalog featuring comments from collectors. The project has been supported by the Ministry of Culture since 2015 and partnered with Patinoire Royale/Galerie Valérie Bach in Brussels, which hosted a group exhibition in 2017 to celebrate the program’s fifth anniversary. In 2019, Art [ ] Collector launched a second prize, in partnership with the company Cornu: Art [ ] Collector – Company. The first winner in 2019 was Clément Bagot, followed in 2020 by Claire Trotignon.
