(since 2023)

Celebrating its 15th anniversary in 2024, the Fondation Francès has been exhibiting its collection of contemporary art in the heart of the historic district of Senlis and in Clichy, in a second exhibition space recently opened. It welcomes art lovers and curious minds and shares its enthusiasm for contemporary art with them.

Since 2009, the Foundation has been developing a rich and varied cultural programme, offering free on-site and off-site exhibitions, guided tours, meetings and introductions to art history, as well as an educational programme based around the works developed by the Fabrique de l’Esprit, an association accredited as a “club for Unesco”. At the same time, it carries out in-depth research into the works and the themes they address, data that is materialised and disseminated through an online catalogue, which can be viewed on its website, an exhibition catalogue. It also holds and distributes a collection of 1,500 books on art and its documentation centre, which is accessible by prior arrangement. The Foundation also forges partnerships with public and private institutions in France and abroad.

Established as the couple’s discoveries unfolded, the collection subsequently revealed a common thread – “Man and his excesses” – and became a source of inspiration and strong convictions. Marina Abramovic, Kader Attia, Mircea Cantor, Nina Childress, Nazanin Pouyandeh and Andres Serrano are among the artists in the collection.
