The Louis Roederer Champagne House, Official Partner of the Deauville American Film Festival for the third year running, is cementing its support for the festival by associating its foundation for the first time. Indeed, the Louis Roederer Foundation will be sponsoring the Revelation Prize, launched in 2006 to recognise an original work by a promising filmmaker.
During the 44th edition of the festival, on September 8 2018, the winner of the Louis Roederer Foundation Revelation Prize will be selected by a jury of five artists, chaired by director and actor, Cédric Kahn. The other four members of the jury are director Hubert Charuel, actress Kate Moran, and actors François Civil and Karim Leklou.
True to its commitment to providing a springboard for up-and-coming talent, the Louis Roederer Foundation is further demonstrating its support of the Seventh Art through its partnership with this festival which seeks to recognise and support new talent on the American film scene.
“Time flies quickly in Deauville. And emotions come and go. “Following Michel Hazanavicius and Emmanuelle Bercot, Sandrine Kiberlain and Cédric Kahn will respectively preside over this year’s Deauville American Film Festival Jury and Revelation Jury. A renowned champagne must naturally celebrate such a famous festival. The Louis Roederer champagne will still be present at the festival, but this time it will be joined by the Louis Roederer Foundation. In keeping with its vocation, the foundation will be presenting the Louis Roederer Foundation Revelation Prize to the film selected by Cédric Kahn and his jury. The great film directors and great winemakers of today are more aware than ever of the importance of building for tomorrow.”
Michel Janneau - General Secretary of the Louis Roederer Foundation
About the Louis Roederer Foundation
The Louis Roederer Foundation was created in 2011 with the purpose of perpetuating Louis Roederer’s sponsorship activity which followed on from its discovery of the photography collection of the Bibliothèque nationale de France in 2003. Since being awarded the title of “Major Patron of Culture and Arts”, the foundation has continued to demonstrate its commitment to art through its support for the Grand Palais as well as an active partnership with the Palais de Tokyo. With each of its sponsorships, at events held in the various shrines to culture and intelligence, and which include the BnF Photography Research Grant, the Rencontres d’Arles’ New Discovery Prize and now the Revelation Prize at the American Film Festival, the Louis Roederer Foundation has never lost sight of the fact that its finest vocation remains its commitment to contemporary creation.
